As It stands I will not bother with part 2 and 3. IF ANYONE AT AUDIBLE READS THESE REVIEWS, I would strongly recommend withdrawing this book, re-recording one of the characters to vastly improve this offering, and having them continue in parts 2 and 3. NOTE: this is Part 1 of a 3 part story, parts 2 and 3 are not released yet on Kindle, let alone on Audible, so it may be better to wait all parts being available to even start. Part 1 ends of course on a major cliffhanger. This narrator made the cop sound like an over excited oaf instead of a cool professional. Charlie David was OK, and thank god is was not Michael Pauley. There are narrators I avoid regardless of what they are reading as they spoil an otherwise good story. This book definitely needed a 2nd narrator either Christian Fox if he read Anchorman or Teddy Hamilton for the cop. Having only one narrator impeded the drama and tension in what otherwise could've been a good story.

One clue was, the cop did all the swearing, and there's alot. It was difficult at times to know which character we were hearing, as there is no difference in the voice or intonation by the narrator. I can’t be sure that either of us are playing anymore.Ī good narrator makes all the difference to an audiobook, plus good editing and spacing between paragraphs and chapters. I know I’m good at my job and playing a character and all, but this is getting out of hand. Except suddenly my stomach’s flipping when he looks my way, and my body comes alive whenever he brushes by me. Xander and I have known each other for years, so this should be a breeze. Going undercover has never been an issue in the past, so I don’t see why there’d be a problem now. I mean, I’m allowed to give him a hard time about it, but when some creep decides to cross the line and go after him, they’re gonna have to answer to me. It must be so hard to be Alexander Thorne, the number one prime-time news anchor in the country, with millions of dollars and a car that costs more than my house. Now, not only do I have a bodyguard, I also have a fake boyfriend. I only wanted the name of a bodyguard I didn’t expect for Sean to volunteer for the job. He also happens to be the best they have, which is why I find myself on his doorstep the night my life is threatened by an anonymous stalker. The older brother of my life-long best friend, Sean is a detective for the Chicago PD, and is also known as Detective “Dick” for being.well, a surly, temperamental pain in everyone’s ass. Never in that equation would I ever include the word boyfriend - and not just because he’s straight. If I had to describe Sean Bailey, it would be: A surly, temperamental pain in my ass.

Inside Affair is book one of the Prime Time Series trilogy and must be listened to in order.
